In the 1930’s the area between Southbury Road and Carterhatch Lane was developed and Enfield’s Willow Estate was born. Today it is a residential area popular with families who are enticed by the size of the properties and the good schools.
People tend to move from East Enfield to more Central and West location like the Willow Estate to start a family, and the area is known for its 1930’s semi-detached houses which offer decent sized gardens and off street parking. The Willow Estate is in the catchment area for the ever popular Enfield Grammar school for Boys, and local St Andrew’s is a popular primary school.
Local shops can be found on Fillebrook Avenue and Baker Street and a large Tesco sits at the foot of Willow Road. A larger selection of stores can be found in Enfield Town centre which is easily accessible from the Willow Estate.
The David Lloyd Leisure Center with its outdoor pool is popular with families and the playground on Aldersbrook Avenue is popular with the younger residence and dog walkers alike.
